Your Responsibilities


¬ 


As a Drivetrain Controls Engineer for John Deere Coffeyville Works in Coffeyville, Kansas, you will define, design, and verify embedded application software for electronic control systems that support a variety of John Deere and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) drivetrain products. In addition, you will:

  • Gather customer requirements and define specifications for control system projects

  • Perform dynamic system and sub-system simulations to design and optimize drivetrain control algorithms

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and validate your control solutions virtually

  • Convert model based software into embedded application code that can be validated in a real time hardware in the loop system

  • Seek innovative ways to meet project requirements, improve product performance, and speed development times

What Skills You Need


¬ 



  • Three or more years' of industry experience with embedded software development

  • Demonstrated proficiency with programming languages, software development tools and Model-Based Software Design (MBSD) utilizing the MATLAB toolchain

  • Experience with the John Deere Operating System (JDOS), AUTOSAR, or similar embedded controller operating systems

  • Experience with dynamic system modeling tools such as AMESim, MATLAB/Simulink, EASY5, LabVIEW, or similar tools

  • Experience with the Agile software design process methodology

What Makes You Stand Out


¬ 



  • System level understanding of off-highway powertrain technologies, with knowledge of hybrid-electric drive systems

  • One or more year's technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems in an automotive or off-highway setting

  • Knowledge of CAN communications protocol and the J1939/ISO11783 standards

  • Ability to interpret and contribute to logic designs and flowchart schematics

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering
