ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create design specifications for product and equipment using Auto-CAD.
Ability to interpret blueprints or specifications and visualize the shape, size and functionality of the design.
Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators.
Knowledge and prediction of the physical principles of mild steels, tool steels, alloys and heat treating processes.
Designs tools, jigs, fixtures and templates for use as work aids.
Knowledge of basic production processes and the ability to operate production equipment to test and troubleshoot completed machines, dies and fixtures.
Basic understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
