Job Description Wesley College Melbourne, a Uniting Church school with a rich tradition spanning 155 years, is a diverse, dynamic, coeducational learning community with more than 3,350 students aged between 3 and 18 years across 3 main campuses.
We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, reliable persons with good communication skills, interested in working as a casual Security Officer to cover absences and for shifts requiring additional staffing for special events and functions at our St Kilda Road campus.
Duties include monitoring of security systems, patrol of campus grounds, opening and closing of campus buildings and facilities during business and after-hours or as required.
Previous security experience in a school setting would be highly regarded.
Applicants with clear written and oral communication skills, who are flexible in their approach to work and enthusiastic about working in an educational setting are encouraged to apply.
Due to the nature of the work environment, you will be interacting with colleagues, students, local residents, parents/community, and contractors on a daily basis.
As such, you will be a confident communicator and will be able to respond to queries in a professional manner and with consideration to the specific audience.
Experience in working with security systems and computer technology is desirable.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
